PWA News 2020

Please feel free to join us in the Clubhouse at 7.30pm on Thursday 12th March 2020 for the Powered Wheelchair Appeal 2020 AGM. You will be able to hear about a memorable year of fundraising and celebration in 2019!

We hope you can join us!

The Powered Wheelchair Appeal recently held another fantastic fundraising Chinese Banquet evening at the Fortune Palace in Delamere Forest. Around 75 club members, friends and supporters attended and saw the 401st chair presented by the registered charity to 13 year old Kiera Stewart from Speke.

Kiera attends Palmerston Special School in Aigburth and when not at school, she enjoys music and playing on a Karaoke machine. Her favourite sport is horse riding and her other hobby is playing with her dog – a pug called Paul!

Kiera was accompanied on the night by her mum Jenni and nan Lynne and is looking forward to the further independence her new chair will bring.
Joining us also on the night were friends and great supporters of the appeal, members of the Ellesmere Port and District Lions.

After the presentation of the chair, we enjoyed another superb banquet provided by Pat and her restaurant staff. Members and friends took part in a quiz, enjoyed a raffle, resulting in a total of just over £824 raised on the night – this included a donation from Pat and the Fortune Palace team. Thank you to all our supporters for helping us to raise this fantastic amount, we are all very grateful!

Our next fundraiser is a Race night at Helsby Golf Club on Saturday 14 March – if you would like to join us, please contact us on
